ASHRAE Training at CMPX 2024

Real-World Solutions from ASHRAE for HVAC Challenges in conjunction with the 2024 Canadian Mechanical & Plumbing Exposition (CMPX) held in Toronto.

In support of CMPX 2024, ASHRAE will present Introduction to Building Decarbonization course for practicing professionals in the HVAC&R industry.  The course will be held on March 20, 2024, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, ON. Each attendee will receive course materials and a certificate of attendance.

Introduction to Building Decarbonization demystifies the primary sources of carbon emissions in buildings and explains the key drivers for decarbonization. The course focuses on the framework of decarbonization—including key definitions and distinct scopes that drive sustainable practices. Learn about ASHRAE's role in disseminating vital decarbonization insights, emphasizing the urgency of combatting climate change, and pinpointing any given building’s substantial contribution to energy-related carbon emissions.

The course explores the complexities of building carbon emissions, including on-site combustion, construction-related sources, and refrigerant leakage. Other covered topics include the principle of building decarbonization, harmonizing occupant well-being, environmental stewardship, and the nature of direct and indirect emissions. The course concludes on the topic of sustainable building innovation—setting a foundation of best practices for a decarbonizing HVAC&R industry.


Cancellation Policy:

Course registration fees will be refunded in full if cancellation is received by ASHRAE Learning Institute at 800-527-4723 or edu@ashrae.org at least 10 business days prior to March 20, 2024. Cancellations received after that date are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. Registrants who do not attend a course or contact ASHRAE prior to the close of business on March 13, 2024, are liable for the entire course registration fee. Registration fees can be transferred by contacting ASHRAE Learning Institute at 800-527-4723 or edu@ashrae.org prior to the close of business on March 13, 2024.
