    Biography

    Arthur D. Hallstrom, P.E. ASHRAE Life/Fellow. Mr Hallstrom holds a BSME from the University of Illinois and an MBA from DePaul University. After college, Lt Hallstrom served two years with the US ARMY developing tactical operating systems. Mr. Hallstrom then joined the Trane Company, holding roles in airside applications engineering and product development management. Mr Hallstrom has authored many publications on air-side applications, equipment, and computer modeling of equipment, systems, and buildings. He also served as President of Digisonix, Div of Nelson Industries, Inc. and was involved in the development of Active Noise Cancellation products. Upon retiring in from Trane in 2010, Mr. Hallstrom became President of his own consulting firm, AD Hall and Associates, and has focused on ASHRAE Activities.

    Mr. Hallstrom was elevated to ASHRAE Fellow in 2000 primarily for his work in innovative acoustical modeling software, active noise control and digital communications. Mr. Hallstrom has been involved with DOAS systems and products since the mid 1990's. Mr Hallstrom has held many positions within ASHRAE including Society Director, Regional Director, 18 years on ASHRAE Society Councils, past President of three ASHRAE Chapters and Chair of several Presidential Ad-hoc Committees. He is currently a voting member of TC 1.6 Terminology, TG2.RAST Reactive Air and Surface Treatment, and SPC 185.5 Method of Testing HVAC-duct mounted Devices and Systems and In-Room devices for Particle and Microorganism Removal or Inactivation in a Chamber with a Recirculating Duct System.
