The ASHRAE Foundation only uses the earnings from its investments to support programs and the principal will always be protected.  Learn More

  • Scholarships

The ASHRAE Foundation administers all Society scholarships and Chapter-Awarded scholarship funds. ASHRAE seeks to motivate students worldwide to pursue an engineering or technology career in the HVAC&R field. The Society's Scholarship Program also serves the public interest by aiding in the education of men and women to become qualified to practice as engineers in HVAC&R. For nearly three decades, ASHRAE has awarded more than $2 million to over 400 deserving students.

  • Endowment

An ASHRAE endowment is a fund that holds its principal in perpetuity and only pays out from its earnings. There are many opportunities for ASHRAE members to support ASHRAE’s mission while also supporting their own personal goals by creating a legacy through endowed funds at the Foundation.

    • Support established memorials and endowments
    • Endow your annual research promotion gift
    • Endow a scholarship
    • Outright gift to create an endowment in support of an area of particular interest
    • Provide naming opportunities
  • Planned Gifts

Charitable gifts help you meet your current philanthropic goals and extend your generosity well into the future. But did you know that a planned gift can also protect your assets, provide for your family, and guarantee you income for life? You can even make a significant impact through a gift that costs nothing in your lifetime (through a charitable bequest under your will).

  • Major Gifts

Significantly Impact ASHRAE and the HVAC&R Industry

There are many ways to make a significant impact on the future of ASHRAE and the industry – whether you make a one-time gift, establish a monthly or annual gift, or pledge an estate gift. Gifts at this level are investments in the mission of the organization that will have a notable impact on our Society’s long-range goals and plans.

For example, gifts can be given to create endowed scholarships, support training and educational programs, support the development of HVAC&R Standards, and to support research projects. For some, gifts at this level represent the legacy they wish to leave. Whatever the intent, we ensure that gifts from our donors are managed and directed in accordance with their wishes. We encourage you to discuss with us your interest in making an investment in ASHRAE’s mission and the impact you would like it to have. For more information, please contact Kirstin Pilot, (678) 539-1103.
