2019 Design Competition

The 2019 student competition focuses on a new small hospital in Budapest, Hungary. ASHRAE sponsors these competitions to encourage students to become involved in a profession that is crucial to insuring a sustainable future for our Earth – the design of energy-efficient HVAC systems.

The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon is a collegiate competition for students to design, build, and operate a solar-powered house in 2 years' time. Contestants offer the public a great deal of insight about cost and energy efficient ways to improve everyday functions in their home.

Race to Zero

The U.S. Department of Energy Race to Zero Student Design Competition is an annual competition, open to students and faculty from any interested collegiate institution. The competition challenges collegiate teams to design zero energy ready buildings that are so high performance and energy efficient that renewable power can offset most or all the annual energy consumption.
