2020 HVAC&R Student Paper Competition

ASHRAE has announced a call for entries for its 2020 HVAC&R Student Paper Competition.

The competition is aimed at students working on their Bachelor and Master’s degree who are members of ASHRAE.

The ASHRAE HVAC&R Student Competition seeks to recognize research conducted by ASHRAE’s student members in any of the following areas:

  • HVAC technology
  • Building services
  • Indoor environmental control
  • Energy performance of buildings

A key component of the requirements is the preparation of a paper that is based on an accepted BS or MS thesis.

Entrants for the 2020 ASHRAE HVAC&R Student Paper Competition:

  • Will submit a six-page maximum length paper that is based on an accepted BS or MS thesis by December 6, 2019.
  • Will give a 10-minute oral presentation before a jury on Saturday, February 1, at ASHRAE’s 2020 Winter Conference in Orlando, Florida.
  • Will prepare a poster for display during the oral presentation.

Entrants will be notified by February 2 of the competition results.
